WACO wrestled at the Regina invitational on Saturday. Warriors who competed were Ian Maize, Gage Samo, Deacon Bird, Braxton Stauffer, Harley Larrimore, Louden Huisenga, Tyler Rodgers, and Tommy Unternahrer. Stauffer finished 8th place and Maize, Samo, and Huisenga finished as tournament champions.

Attention parents of JH/HS students that ride Bus 7 from the JH/SH to Olds and transfer to Bus 1 in Olds to Crawfordsville in the PM:
Bus 1 has some new riders with additional stops that have changed the PM route and its expected PM arrival time in Crawfordsville. The bus will now arrive in Crawfordsville sometime between 4:45 PM and 5:00 PM. The time will vary based on what students ride each day.
Thank you for your patience as we all adjust to this new route change.

We ask that you please remember not to block residential driveways on Washington/South St, or any, street, while you wait.
We also need you to refrain from driving behind the buses while they are in the lot. Please exit via the same lane adjacent to the lot.

All WACO second graders were gifted a copy of Just Like Caitlin by Ally Obermeier!
As the giving season approaches, the Jensen Family is excited to give the book, Just Like Caitlin, to EVERY second grader in the state of Iowa. This book tells her story and includes many important life lessons like dreaming big, working hard, valuing relationships over winning and many more. Dickson and Luann Jensen are proud Iowans, business owners, coaches, parents, and grandparents. They are proud of Caitlin and believe she is a great role model for
all kids. Because of their love for children and desire to impact the next generation, they hope this book inspires kids to believe their future can be greater than they imagine.

Huge thanks to Officer Burke from Washington Co. Sheriffs Department for presenting to our 6th grade classes during our Red Ribbon Week celebrations! Officer Burke taught students about his K9, Dzamal, and how he helps the officers keep our community safe.
This week the students at WACO Elementary held their own election to decide who would be WACO Pet President!! Check out the video for ELECTION RESULTS!

Kindness Week is Coming!
Next week (November 11 - 14), we’re celebrating Kindness Week at WACO Elementary! Let's come together to spread positivity, show compassion, and make our school community even stronger.
Throughout the week, students will participate in fun activities & lessons focused on kindness and empathy. It’s all about creating a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and appreciated!
Let’s fill our school with smiles and create ripples of kindness that extend beyond the classroom! See the picture below for dress up days!
NHS students enjoying some quality time with kindergarten at recess.
Fourth grade students learned about medieval times in language arts, so we extended that learning into the steam lab! Students worked in small groups to create battering rams. Each one had to have wheels, a roof, and the ram had to be suspended on the structure. They turned out great!
Ms. Richardson's 4th grade science classes were able to build catapults while learning about elastic energy.
Second graders recently celebrated the end of their fairy tales and folk tales unit by eating "flapjacks" and watching Paul Bunyan!
Mrs. Miller's second grade had some fun visitors from the high school today! We enjoyed listening to some stories and having a brain break with them!
Kindergarten learned about the letter v with a visit from Ms. Reyner and her violin!
Second graders had some special guest reading buddies yesterday! Students enjoyed reading with Arly and three volunteers from WACO high school NHS! Thank you girls for coming to read with our class, they were all so excited to read to and with you! 🤍🩵
Thank you to the Miller Family (Doug, Jennifer, Holden and Finnley) for the donation of books to the WACO Libraries to honor of their neice and cousin, Jaicey Arlene Miller. These books have been so helpful in understanding the complex emotions kids face each day. Pictured is Jennifer, Holden, Finnley and Arly, who is named for Jaicey.
