Today the Blank Park Zoo from Des Moines visited WACO Elementary! Everyone got to meet Violet the TENREC and Snickers the BALL PYTHON! Mr. Ben taught us about these two animals, their conservation, and how they are taking care of all of their animals!

Second graders have been learning about erosion and earth's surface in science! 🧪🧫🔬They got to experiment with this concept in the lab they completed! Students built a model of a canyon and then conducted four rainstorm simulations to see how water/rain can impact land. 😃
We are excited to announce that our One School, One Book event this year will be................THE ONE AND ONLY IVAN! This story of a real mall gorilla by Katherine Applegate is a story of friendship, hardship, and how to be kind! The story follows Ivan (the mall gorilla), his elephant friends Stella and Ruby, his dog friend Bob, and his caretakers! Books, calendars and all kinds of goodies will come home next Monday!

WACO wrestled at the Regina invitational on Saturday. Warriors who competed were Ian Maize, Gage Samo, Deacon Bird, Braxton Stauffer, Harley Larrimore, Louden Huisenga, Tyler Rodgers, and Tommy Unternahrer. Stauffer finished 8th place and Maize, Samo, and Huisenga finished as tournament champions.

Attention parents of JH/HS students that ride Bus 7 from the JH/SH to Olds and transfer to Bus 1 in Olds to Crawfordsville in the PM:
Bus 1 has some new riders with additional stops that have changed the PM route and its expected PM arrival time in Crawfordsville. The bus will now arrive in Crawfordsville sometime between 4:45 PM and 5:00 PM. The time will vary based on what students ride each day.
